Young’s Machine Company is celebrating 60 years of service this year! Clyn P. Young built his first Young Buggy in 1953 out of a wrecked three quarter ton pickup truck:
Young’s Machine is a third generation family business – Clyn Young & Darroll Young orginally formed the company and soon added Jack Young as a partner:
The company continued to grow and expand over the years, shipping their products all over the world. The Young brothers had 11 sons combined and they were taught the trade and essential skills needed to run the company. They have been open for business every day for 60 years and are the oldest privately held family business in San Juan County, Utah. The focus has always been to manufacture the finest mining shuttle cars anywhere. Young’s Machine has earned many awards over the years including:
*1972 State of Utah presented Young’s with the Utah State Small Business Excellence Award
*1999 U.S. Small Business Administration’s Exporter of the Year Award
*2000 Utah State Global Achievement Award
Darroll and Clyn have passed away, however Jack has been retired for several years and still lives near the business. He checks in often on his sons, Gary (president) Jack (vice-president) and Steve (Secretary-Treasurer) to make sure the business is maintaining the standards set by their fathers and uncles.
